Combine a whitewater rafting adventure with your bachelor/ette party and your wedding party will rave. The Kennebec and Dead Rivers offer one and two day rafting trips which are easy to moderately difficult which is great for mixed ability levels. A favorite with wedding groups is the Kennebec River 2-day island wilderness camping trips. The setting is private, secluded and conducive to good conversation and wicked good fun. For a surcharge, groups have even reserved the island exclusively for their parties. If you prefer to stay in town, there is an option for live adult entertainment on Saturday nights. Plus, there are plenty of other activities in the area to round out your trip to the western mountains of Maine.
If your plans include a stayover, we offer camping, Cabin Tent camping and deluxe lodging accommodations.
Indoor accommodations are available at Grand View Lodging. With a 5-bedroom house, four modern apartments and a campfire area, Grand View Lodging can host 35+ people in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The large private deck overlooking the mountain range is great for socializing. Three acres of maintained lawn serves as a driving range, football field or frisbee golf course. Grand View is like home-away-from-home.
Our Kennebec and Dead River campground is nestled amongst the pines and within walking distance of the river. The group sites are private. And if you’d like a music jam around the campfire we can arrange that, too. A relaxing walk on the river path brings you to the popular swimming beach. There are grass and drive-in campsites, volleyball and horseshoes. The bathrooms are clean and heated, have free showers, electrical outlets and are open 24 hours.
