| "All three of us agree that it was the best vacation we ever had. We do have a wide experience of traveling in Europe and Israel. We were carefully matched to a wonderful group of hard working, kind and helpful people which made these days so special with their pleasant nature, enthusiasm, and professionalism. We enjoyed every bit of the vacation: From the hospitality at Grand View Lodging through the amazing Appalachian Trail hike with Ed & Mikey, to the incredible overnight rafting trip." Our friendly staff can guide you on one of several local hikes varying in difficulty from easy to difficult. The trailhead to the Pleasant Pond portion of the Appalachian Trail is nearby and is a hearty day hike with a rewarding panoramic mountain vista at the end.
Moxie Falls, the tallest free-flowing waterfall in Maine at 90', is one of the most visited waterfalls in Maine. It lies tucked away just out of sight of the Kennebec and Dead Rivers. There is a designated parking area and the .6 walk is easy and on a well-maintained trail. The trailhead is just up the road from PRO's basecamp. You can either hike it yourself or hire one of our guides to lead your group.
Grand Falls is another very popular moderate hike. This horseshoe shaped waterfall is 16 miles off the nearest dirt road near the headwaters of the Dead River rafting launch site.
These spectacular hikes take you deep into the woods to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Maine wilderness.
